All About Research

To unlock the mysteries of the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), research across a wide variety of disciplines is essential. Scientists will play a crucial role in this process, but they cannot provide answers on their own. Those with ASDs and their families can play a vital part by participating in research studies and becoming informed consumers of research.

In IAN Research, we explain how parents of children with an ASD can participate in a major autism research project via the Internet from the comfort of home.

In Researchers Need You, we list ASD research studies in the United States that are currently recruiting subjects.

In IAN Research Reports, we present preliminary findings based on the data families with a child on the autism spectrum have provided so far. Discover what we've learned!

In IAN Research Questions, we display the IAN questionnaires.  Curious about what we're asking families?  You can find out here!  In many cases, we even have results to share in the form of pie charts showing how families are answering specific questions.

In Understanding Research,  we encourage parents and others who advocate for those with ASDs to become informed consumers of research, empowering them to question and to challenge.  Learn how to evaluate research, as well as what theories and insights are driving autism research.

In Government Initiatives, we report on high-level decision making regarding autism research.

In Autism Spectrum Disorder Research, we explore current autism research: projects, articles, and findings.
